Waterproof connector applications by industry
Intronix waterproof connectors and cable assemblies are used wherever water, dust, vibration or UV exposure would shorten the life of a standard connector. Select an industry above to see typical equipment and recommended product families. Our main markets are AI data centers, where OCP ORV3 AC whip cables power rack power shelves, and outdoor industrial and transportation equipment that relies on IP67, IP68 and IP69K sealing.
Across these industries the same requirements repeat: a reliable seal against water and dust, a locking interface that will not loosen under vibration, materials that tolerate UV and temperature cycling, and a cable assembly that can be built to the exact length and pinout of the equipment. Transportation, renewable energy, automation, heavy equipment, marine, LED lighting, wireless access and smart metering each have their own page with typical equipment lists.
Recommended product families
- OCP ORV3 AC Whip Cable: AI server and hyperscale data center rack power.
- M12 Series: sensors, fieldbus and industrial Ethernet.
- Circular Series: signal, power and hybrid connections from 2 to 31 pins.
- Custom Cable Assemblies: harnesses and overmolded assemblies built to your drawing.
How to choose the right connector
When selecting connectors for outdoor and industrial equipment, start with the required protection level: IP67 for temporary immersion, IP68 for continuous immersion and IP69K for high-pressure, high-temperature washdown. Then confirm the current and voltage rating, pin count, cable outer diameter, locking style and mounting method. Most Intronix families are available as panel-mount receptacles, field-installable cable connectors and complete overmolded cable assemblies, so one connector family can cover the device, the harness and the spare parts.
Engineering support
Every project starts with a drawing review. Share the pin count, current and voltage rating, cable length and operating environment, and our engineers will recommend a standard part or propose a custom design, then build samples for your validation before production.
